Jangadas

These fragile-looking rafts are a common site in Northeast Brazil. If you're lucky to catch them returning from open sea, you can buy the freshest fish you'll ever find, and have it prepared right there on the beach, at a price so low you won't believe it...
This day, though, the jangadas were ashore - time for the fishermen to be with their families, at last!

Beautiful jangadas, I love to watch the fishermen coming back, kids running towards them, and the fish they bring back. I have eaten grilled fresh fish at the beach, the taste is simply the best!!! Where did you take these pictures? Thanks!

Cris,
The pictures were taken on the Parajuru beach, 120km East of Fortaleza. We went there on a workday and the beach was deserted...
Moi, if you love seafood, in CearĂ¡ you would feel in heaven... And I hope your husband is doing well.

Your pictures are absolutely glorious, and the thought of fresh seafood sounds like heaven to me! I haven't had that since I lived near the beach. I don't think there's anything that tastes better.
