Capim dourado - Golden grass
The beautiful natural gold color and shine of this plant were unknown outside its native region of Jalapão, in the state of Tocantins, until recently.
As I was driving on Sunday to the nice country restaurant that Cris showed in her blog recently, my wife saw these articles displayed on the sidewalk, and asked me to stop there on our way back. She only had to ask once because, while she was interested in browsing, I had already spotted the nice photo opportunity...

Nice catch Geraldo! I saw them there on the way back too because a friend stopped on the way to the restaurant and gave me a beautiful purse and earrings made of this golden grass for my birthday!
Lindos estes artesanatos do Japalão!

Wonderful!!!!
I looked at the first one and thought they were gold bangles :-)
Photo opportunities should be snapped up when they arise.
What wonderful items, and you have photographed them so beautifully.
Thank you for stopping by my blog.
I will bookmark yours, and drop by often.
Take care, Meow
I knew the ladies would love it...
Cris, your gifts were one reason why my wife wanted to stop on our way back...
Moi, this is their natural shine, isn't it amazing!
Ash, they really look like gold, they're even more shiny than it looks in the pictures.
Meow, thanks for your comment from down under (well, not really down under from here, we're in the same hemisphere!).

What extraordinary color! So beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing this natural gold with us. What an education I get visiting you, Cris and Sonia! It's a wonderful world we live in.
And yes Geraldo, we're lucky (to be married so many years..a blessing indeed)!
Vale a pena esperar e conferir.
